Blossom time in Chagrin Falls is a very fun way for the
community to come together and have a fun time, but it is also a lot of work
for local stores in Chagrin Falls. Since blossom starts tonight, Haven Style
House took most of the day to prepare for the blossom time promotion. The
promotion includes 15% off of the whole store as well as 40% of for all sale
items. We started by making an extra rack of clothes to take outside so that
customers walking on the street for blossom would see the clothes. We then
marked down the prices for all of the sale items, corrected the price tags for
those clothes, and then updated the system so that everything was the same.
After we finished that, I helped write a blog post to introduce an event that
Haven Style House is participating in called Fab Fest Cleveland. Fab Fest is a
day event for women put on by the non-profit organization, Bright Pink. Bright
Pink helps women learn about early detection and prevention for ovarian and
breast cancer. It also provides support to those currently suffering from
cancer. Haven Style House is an event sponsor so I helped write an explanation
of the event and a way customers can get involved to help.
Wow, awesome! It sounds like you are getting a ton of real retail experience in this job! Have you ever considered starting your own retail store or working at one? I am working at Lilly Pulitzer this summer and many of the things you are doing sound like the things I do at my job! With this senior project experience I think you would have a lot of success working in the retail industry!!
ReplyDeleteAdditionally, it sounds like this Blossom Time festival is a very great time for business at Haven Style House! How great for them! How did sales go during the weekend of Blossom Time? I’m sure there is a very interesting dynamic between how much of discount they are giving and how much they truly make. Did they end up making more money than they gave away due to these great discounts? I’m sure this is a very interesting dynamic to be able to observe at the store! Cool!!
