Day 1: Promo Team

My first day I was fortunate enough to jump right into my project and work with the "Promo Team" at the game. The "Promo Team" consists of college junior and senior interns who alike myself are gaining experience in the sports promotion and marketing field. The first task the "Promo Team" had to do was go over the game plan and make sure everyone knew their respective responsibilities. Everyone has a clipboard of the game plan along with a radio they keep with them throughout the game to make sure they are on time to where they're supposed to be. Each task is split up by inning and members of the team have to be in that place by the end or middle of the inning. Some of the responsibilities that they have are finding fans before the game that are willing to participate in the contests (the lucky people who get to be on the big screen), escort the singers for the national anthem and the people who throw out the first pitches and most importantly they are on the field getting the fans involved by doing different activities such as sling shooting t-shirts and doing races that entertain the fans. I learned that the "Promo Team" is ultimately responsible for keeping fans entertained throughout the game and making sure the fans have a good experience and want to come back. I thought it was really cool working with them because I got to see what happens behind the scenes and the preparation involved in making sure fans are involved and enjoy coming to the games.

  1. That's so cool Warren I love baseball. I recently caught my first t-shirt at a Cleveland Cavaliers game. It was probably one of the greatest nights of my life
