I had a great first day at Haven Style House. We started out the day by
promoting their “May Happy Hour” event by posting a picture on Instagram and Facebook,
and tweeting about it. As I have learned today, social media is a crucial way
for Haven Style House to access their customers and keep them updated on their
new products, trends, and events. After showing me around, my mentors, Cori and
Anne, showed me all the online systems they use to stay organized with their
inventory and transactions. Today, they had a personal shopping appointment
with a young woman looking for a specific outfit for an event downtown. It was
really cool to help out with the appointment and help the client choose what
looked the best on her for her special event. In addition, the store uses a lot
of websites like etsy to discover new and unique brands to sell in the store. I
discovered a new brand for them and helped contact the owners of the brand to
help establish a connection and hopefully sell their products in the future.
Some of the products I found include watches, wallets, and key chains. I also
helped organize their new shipments and get them ready to display in the store.
