Au Revoir France!

As the Cannes Film Festival comes to a close this weekend yesterday was my last full day in France.  As I stated earlier in the project Cannes is divided between two markets; the business side of the film industry and the art side of the film industry.  On Wednesday many of the companies begin to clear out of Cannes and the festival turns into “a traditional French film festival.”  The change is very drastic because the tone of the city changes from corporate playground to an artistic French festival.
Since today was mainly a travel day I began digging around Screen Advantages preexisting social media accounts.  On Tuesday I launched Screen Advantages’ Facebook campaign, which has yielded a great deal of attention to the Facebook page and has lead people to go to the Screen Advantage website.  Since being in France the amount of subscriptions to Screen Advantage has increased, which means the trip to Cannes was successful.  We are hopeful that this increase in subscriptions will continue over the next few weeks.  In regards of Screen Advantage’s Twitter account I have been making notes on things that are being done well and things that need to be changed.  At the end of the week I am hoping to have recommendations on what needs to be changed on that account and how it can help the company.  I am also going to be researching other social media sites that can give Screen Advantage a stronger digital media presence.

*Side note if you ever leave the country for school England is not very happy to let you back in.  I got detained for two hours and it was honestly terrifying because I almost got deported.  BUT! I did not so you guys are lucky and still have two weeks Christina free…don’t worry though, in America you’re always free! (not my case at London Heathrow Airport)

  1. Wow I think the incident in London Heathrow Airport is very important to point out. As Americans we are constantly taking our vast amount of civil liberties for granted. It is obviously important to take air flight safety very seriously, however in this situation the United Kingdom was certainly taking in too far in restricting your civil liberties. It is apparent to all of us that the airport is somewhere that security needs to be very high and the administration of the airports should be on watch; however pulling a young American girl aside makes very little sense. Considering you had already gotten off your flight I can’t comprehend how foolish it is for them to see you as a threat to security!! It is so unfortunate that they made your experience so rough to get back into the country. This just goes to show how much better the United States is than the United Kingdom. No wonder we had a revolution to leave them.

Additionally, I hope you consider using a social media model like BIZI, my entrepreneurship company. I think that Screen Advantages could really benefit from our strategies, algorithms and advertising to promote their social media presence. Please feel free to email me in order to talk more about the BIZI strategic advantage.
